New Years Eve Cruise

New Years Eve fireworks cruise

About the cruise

The Mandurah canal residents put on a fantastic display of Christmas lights, and the best view of it is from the water. Hop aboard The Pirate Ship for a Christmas lights tour departing at 7:30pm, followed by fireworks in the bay at 9pm and finishing around 9:15pm once the fireworks are over. The Pirate Ship docks at our departure jetty to view the fireworks display.

BYO drinks and snacks are welcome. The vessel isn't licensed.

Boarding opens at 7:15pm and closes at 7:25pm, for a 7:30pm departure. Please allow time for parking and the walk to the jetty, we can't wait for late arrivals, and there are road closures in place for the event, so parking will take longer than usual.

Ticket conditions

  • All children need to be accompanied by an adult.
  • Infants must be added to the booking as they are considered a passenger.
  • The vessel is not wheelchair accessible, please see the accessibility page for more details.
  • We do not accept the companion card or offer free tickets for this cruise.

All fares include GST. Live prices are shown with each departure.

Departure dates & times

New Year's Eve only. The Christmas Lights sessions are closed that night, this cruise replaces it.

What to bring

  • Coat or jacket, it's an open air boat and it can be cold at night
  • Cameras, there's lots to see
  • Due to space restrictions, no prams or strollers aboard, we have limited storage, so please leave prams in the car
  • BYO beer and wine, up to 4 drinks per person, no large eskies. Soft drinks and water are available to buy on board.

How to find us

We're at the jetty out the front of The Bay Cafe on the Eastern Foreshore, opposite 9 Mandurah Terrace, between the Kwillena Gabi estuary pool and the traffic bridge.

Boarding starts 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Please allow time to park and walk down: if you miss the cruise, tickets are forfeited.

Parking on the foreshore is in short supply most weekends, and traffic on the freeway can add to the trip, so it's worth leaving a bit earlier than you think you need to.

Missed the cruise?

If you miss the cruise we've held the seats for you and lost the opportunity to resell your tickets, which have now been forfeited.

Getting aboard

A smooth sloped ramp runs down to the ship and there are no gangway steps to climb. All you step over is the lip of the deck, less than the height of a normal stair. Once aboard it’s a flat deck to the seating..

A wheelchair can't be pushed aboard, but once you're seated we can fold it and stow it for the cruise. Our accessibility page has the full detail. If anything there leaves you unsure, ask us before you book and we'll give you a straight answer.

Amazing. Loved every second of it. The tour guides are fantastic. We saw lots of dolphins too (see the pic which didn’t capture the magic of it in person). I have a very happy 4yo
