Overview of the Pirate Ship Mandurah

Offering short inland cruises from 45 minutes to 90 minutes in duration.

Accessibility & Boarding

There is a smooth sloped ramp from the land to the Pirate Ship for boarding. Once you get to the boat there is a small step onto the Pirate Ship from the jetty.

The gate opens to a maximum width of 800mm once onboard bench style seating is 600mm apart.

The Pirate Ship is not wheelchair accessible however we have had some parents with small children in wheelchairs carry them on and get them seated.

Wheelchairs can't be pushed aboard, you'll need to board on foot, with assistance if you have someone with you. Once you're seated we can fold your chair and stow it for the cruise, the same as we do with walkers and prams.

The toilet has 3 stairs once inside toilet. There is an accessible toilet located on the Western foreshore close to the departure location.

Guests are welcome to bring walkers and we can fold these up and store them, the sides of the boat has 900mm high rails that can be used for walking support to seats along with assistance.

Carer Ticket Policy

Carer tickets are available only on our 90-Minute Scenic Cruise and 45-Minute Pirate Cruise. They are not available on any other sailing, including Christmas Lights, New Year's Eve, Crab Fest and other event cruises.

Important Details

  • Companion Cards: We do not accept the Companion Card.
  • Adult Guests: If you are an adult guest with a disability who requires a carer for assistance, your carer is eligible for one complimentary ticket.
  • Child Guests: All children require adult supervision onboard regardless of ability. Therefore, we do not offer free carer tickets for children, even if they hold a Companion Card. Standard ticket pricing applies for all children and accompanying adults.
  • All other cruises: Christmas Lights, New Year's Eve and event cruises are in high demand and sold at special event pricing, so complimentary carer tickets are not available on them.

Emergency Management

  • Safety briefing is explained after arrival before we depart the jetty this is also when the layout will be explained.
  • In the event of an emergency the crew will visually and verbally alert occupants.
  • Exit access is free and clear at all times

We ensure exit access is free and clear at all times by: The gates are always clear to open, prams and walkers are folded up and stored towards the back of the boat.

  • Exit doors are able to be opened by all occupants
  • Exits to the emergency evacuation point does not include stairways

The crew identifies guests who need additional assistance should an emergency occur. customers can add notes at the time of booking. We also count and greet every passenger coming onto the boat the staff will be aware of any limitations of customers.

The procedure for assisting guests who need assisted rescue is: Someone will assist them getting a life jacket on or assign a person to help if there is a serious emergency. If it is minor staff can accompany them off the boat the same as we do when they board.
